Expressive Arts
What is Expressive Art?
Expressive arts use arts as their basis for discovery and change, a discipline that helps and heals.
Art in the African and Asian context is an important medium that individuals use to express themselves and communicate their unique perspectives, experiences, and traditions.
At TheMarriageAdvocates Canada, we use the arts to inspire social change by shedding light on cultural nuances that, if not properly addressed, can lead to family disruption and domestic violence. By fostering new perspectives, we help immigrant families build lives that align with Canadian values. Additionally, we use the arts to educate the broader community about the cultural influences shaping immigrant family dynamics, raising awareness for cultural sensitivity.
At TMA Canada we use all five art disciplines to communicate our message about the importance of healthy relationships for a stronger community and use art to help develop healthier mental health for couples and families.
